Vakkaru Maldives is expanding its overwater collection with the launch of a new Overwater Villa with Pool, available for stays from 22 October 2026.
Set above the lagoon in Baa Atoll, the new villa category combines Vakkaru’s established overwater design with a private pool, generous outdoor space and direct access to the water — adding another option for travellers looking for a private overwater stay in the Maldives.
A New Overwater Villa with Pool at Vakkaru Maldives
The new Overwater Villa with Pool offers 165 square metres of living space, complemented by a private overwater terrace and pool. Each villa has direct lagoon access, allowing guests to move easily between the villa, private deck and surrounding waters.
The interiors continue Vakkaru’s light and spacious approach to overwater living, with wide views across the lagoon and an indoor bathroom with a bathtub overlooking the water. The villas accommodate up to two adults and one child, making the category suitable for both couples and small families.
Expanding Vakkaru Maldives’ Overwater Collection
The new category comprises villas 211 to 245 and joins Vakkaru’s wider collection of beachfront and overwater accommodation.
Alongside the introduction, the resort’s existing Overwater Pool Villa category will be renamed Overwater Deluxe Pool Villa. This is a naming update only, with no changes to the existing villas’ features or inventory.
The distinction gives guests a clearer choice between Vakkaru’s different pool villa experiences while expanding the range of private overwater accommodation available at the resort.
A Private Island Escape in Baa Atoll
Vakkaru Maldives is located within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, approximately 30 minutes by seaplane from Malé.
The new villa category arrives as the resort continues to build on recent international recognition. Vakkaru received One MICHELIN Key in the MICHELIN Guide Hotel Selection 2025 and was named both World’s Leading Private Island Resort 2025 and Indian Ocean’s Leading Resort 2025 at the World Travel Awards.
