InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort has revealed its festive programme for 2026/27, “12 Pearls of the Ocean”, bringing together Christmas celebrations, live entertainment, wellness, art, dining and marine experiences in Raa Atoll.
Running from 20 December 2026 to 7 January 2027, the festive season takes inspiration from the treasures of the ocean, with 12 dedicated “pearls” marking key moments throughout the celebrations.

12 Pearls Across the Festive Season
At the heart of the programme are 12 themed days, each presenting a different aspect of the festive experience. The celebrations begin with the Pearl of Welcome on 22 December, including the resort’s Christmas Tree Lighting, followed by the Pearl of Togetherness on Christmas Eve and the Pearl of Joy on Christmas Day.
The programme continues with themes including Champagne, Discovery, Play, the Maldives, Indulgence, Adventure, Rhythm and Tradition. Christmas Eve will feature sunset cocktails and several dining options, while Christmas Day includes Santa’s island arrival and activities for families.
The final Pearl of Tradition, on 7 January, marks Orthodox Christmas and brings the festive programme to a close.
Pixie Lott to Headline New Year’s Eve
One of the season’s major highlights will be an exclusive New Year’s Eve performance by British singer-songwriter Pixie Lott. Her live performance forms part of the Pearl of Memory on 31 December and the grand finale of the resort’s 12 Pearls journey.
The evening will begin with a New Year’s Eve cocktail party before a gala dinner accompanied by live entertainment and sea-inspired performances. Following Pixie Lott’s headline set, the arrival of 2027 will be marked by a midnight drone and fireworks spectacle over Maamunagau.

Wellness, Art and the Ocean
Beyond the main celebrations, the programme introduces visiting specialists whose experiences connect with Maamunagau’s natural setting.
Holistic wellness practitioner Braj Raj Singh will offer personalised treatments drawing on therapeutic traditions and contemporary practices. His programme includes Posture Rebalance Therapy, Power of Touch and Chakra Balancing experiences.
British artist and scientific illustrator Janavi Kramer, a qualified PADI Divemaster, will join the resort as artist in residence. Known for detailed watercolour works inspired by marine life, Kramer will invite guests to explore the underwater world through art and conversation.
A Festive Escape for the Whole Family
Families staying at InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort will find a dedicated festive programme ranging from gingerbread house making and kids’ cooking classes to a kite festival, children’s fashion show and pirate-themed cruise.
Combined with special dining events, Champagne yacht cruises, festive markets and celebrations throughout the island, “12 Pearls of the Ocean” creates a varied programme extending beyond Christmas and New Year into the first week of January.
