Bolifushi Island is in a pristine corner of the South Malé atoll. A 25-minute luxury catamaran ride brings guests from the Velana International Airport to the island. As guests step onto Bolifushi island they are greeted with a traditional Maldivian welcome. The blowing of a conch shell accompanies the placing of a hand-crafted palm leaf necklace, with rhythmic ‘Bodu Beru’ drumming and Sangu whistling. A refreshing Kurumba (fresh coconut) welcome drink is served in the local style.
