With just 14 villas, the resort celebrates highly intuitive service and rare experiences in a one-of-a-kind island setting

Known for its luxurious and sustainable resorts and bespoke experiences since 30 years, Soneva is taking a step further in ultra personalised hospitality, with the launch of Soneva Secret on January 10, 2024.

Located in the sparkling waters of Dhipparufushi in the Maldives’ Haa Dhaalu Atoll, the debut of Soneva Secret resort represents a new wave of rare, tailor-made experiences and the ultimate in privacy and seclusion.

About Soneva Secret

The first resort in the Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Soneva Secret features just 14 overwater and island villas, including the Maldives’ only floating villa.

Designed to offer the ultimate in Soneva hospitality and exemplary service standards, each villa features a dedicated team of three, which includes a Barefoot Guardian, Barefoot Assistant and dedicated chef, to ensure every stay is wholly personalised.

The villas also come with bedrooms with retractable roofs for stargazing, adjoining children’s rooms and gym and spa treatment rooms.

Castaway Villa

The first of its kind in the Maldives, the Castaway is an exceptional floating villa and offers the ultimate in overwater living. This exclusive villa is only accessible by sea and has been consciously designed to be unaffected by wave movements.

Spread across two floors, the expansive villa features Soneva’s signature saltwater pool and curved slide straight into the lagoon, as well as a retractable roof over the master bedroom.

An additional double bedroom is situated on the ground floor, alongside a fully equipped gym overlooking the turquoise waters, a covered dining area and a family-sized TV lounge with a large daybed and sunken seating.

Upstairs, a spa treatment room, waterslide into the lagoon and an al fresco dining sala complete this exclusive space.

Every villa at Soneva Secret has its own dedicated private chef, but guests can also explore a refined selection of culinary experiences across the resort, including limited-edition menus and complimentary chocolate, ice cream and cheese and charcuterie rooms.

Out of This World, the castaway wine cellar, dining room and observatory, offers a unique gastronomic experience where guests can zipline to the elevated wine cellar terrace and dine on an expertly crafted menu, while the resident astronomer helps navigate the skies.

The Living Room is a two-storey clubhouse, home to a casual all-day dining restaurant and lounge that celebrates fresh, seasonal ingredients from the island’s organic garden, alongside a library, a game room and a boutique. So Primitive is a toes-in-the-sand dining experience taking cuisine back to its roots, with meat, seafood and plant-based dishes cooked over a central fire pit, inviting convivial gatherings.
